Privacy

The short version

This site sets no cookies. It has no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising. Most pages load nothing at all from anyone but us. If you do not use the contact form, you do not give us anything and we do not keep anything.

The contact form

The form asks for your name, your email address, optionally your organisation, and your message. It opens your own email program with those details filled in, so nothing is sent anywhere until you press send in your own software, and the message arrives at info@toldbyateen.co.uk like any other email.

We use it to reply to you and nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not pass it to anybody, and we do not sell it. Messages are kept while they are useful and deleted when they are not, which for a guest suggestion usually means once the series it was suggested for has finished.

The lawful basis is legitimate interests: you contacted us and you are expecting a reply.

The episode pages load a video from YouTube

Each episode page embeds its video from youtube-nocookie.com, which is YouTube's privacy-enhanced player. It does not set advertising cookies unless you press play. It does still connect your browser to Google in order to load the player, which means Google can see your IP address on those pages. That is the trade for being able to watch an episode without leaving the site.

Nothing else on the site loads from anyone else. The typefaces are served from this domain rather than from Google Fonts, which is deliberate.

Who has it

Told by a Teen is produced with Cardboard Creative Limited, which is the data controller for this site: the company that decides what happens to anything you send. Registered in England and Wales, company number 12039844. You can reach it at hello@cardboardcreative.co.uk.

The site is hosted by Hostinger, who process what any web host processes: the request, and the IP address it came from, in their server logs. Email to info@toldbyateen.co.uk is delivered through Hostinger and read by the Told by a Teen team.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to us holding it. Email hello@cardboardcreative.co.uk, which reaches the data controller directly, and we will deal with it within a month. If you are not happy with how we answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If you are under 18

You are welcome here and a lot of this show is for you. Please do not send us anything you would not want an adult to read, and if you would rather not use the form at all, that is completely fine. There is nothing on this site you have to sign up for.
